Shopping in Monroeville

I slept from Washington DC through 2-3 stops (Hagerstown, etc) to Monroeville, PA. Then the coach drives to the mall. A really nice big mall with Penney's, Barnes and Noble, etc. What's up? The Greyhound Bus Station is at the mall. Great place to wait! But it is not scheduled rest stop. It's a dump, grab, and go! That's a Woody-ism, too.

Finally I left Washington

TMI! TMS! That's too much information and too many schedules. My plane departed LA at 11pm last Thursday. The bus departs Washington at 8pm. Ok, I showed for 11pm departure at bus station. So, I had to spent reading and watching CNN news programs including Larry King Live!

Book, Bagel and Coffee in DC

Arrived in DC!
I survived the transfer in Pittsburgh by standing in line to get a choice seat. Batteries were low so no picures or video from the small Greyhound station. I slept well as usual.
Walked a block to Metro Station. Boarded the Metro to Union Station (next stop). Walked five blocks to the church. All set!
Walked to a bagel shop (Bagels & Baguettes Deli Café Bakery) for beakfast. (www.bnbcafe.net)
Back to the church to start Bread for the World's Lobby Day 2008.

Cambridge, OH

A quick 10-15 minute stop in Cambridge.

Michael, the driver, is entertaining. He gave his version of the coach rules. For example, no smoking of cigarettes, cigars, pot, rock, etc, etc. 'if you must obey, then disobey with a friend so you will have company on the side of the road when I put you off!'

It's getting dark, the overhead lights for reading are not on.

A beautiful day in the National's ca

It is a beautiful day for walking around Capitol Hill. It is sunny and not too hot.
It is typical summer day on the hill. Lots of students, middle and high school tours.
All most too good to come inside the halls of Congress to speak on behalf of vioiceless poor people of the world.

Columbus, OH

Ready to leave Columbus after about 30 minutes pause. Great trip so far. I have to change buses in Pittsburg for DC.
Columbus' bus station is downtown. It is a new facility.
More passengers than from Indy. Also, we stopped in Dayton to pickup passengers and got a chance to stretch again.
An accident on I-75 closed the exit and had a traffic backup for miles. We avoided it driving past and came in Dayton from the eastside.
The trick will be to make my connection in Pittsburg for DC.
Air condition feels good but some folks with T-shirts with drinks are cold.
Driver is seated and pulling out!

First Smoke Break - New Lisbon, IN

My Greyhound Bus trip from Indianapolis to Washington DC. It started shaky. I stood in line waiting to board the bus. The line was quite orderly. The first bus was full. They quickly pressed a second bus into service. So, my bus left 30 minutes later. Our ten minute break is over. On the road again. Back to my book.
